One Tree Planted
The Earth is not a backdrop to human life. It is the source of it. Everything that sustains us — the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, the beauty that restores us — comes from this planet. And for thousands of years, human beings have drawn on these resources freely and abundantly.
I believe that abundance comes with an obligation. If the Earth has given so much to us, we have a responsibility to give something back. To protect it. To replenish what we have taken.
Of all the ways human beings can do that, I cannot think of anything more fundamental, more sustainable, or more lasting than planting trees. Trees restore ecosystems, rebuild biodiversity, sequester carbon, and replenish the very resources that make human life possible. It is, in every sense of the word, a noble cause — and one I am proud to support.
